From the Office of the Director
Dear MSOD Alumni and Current Students: Welcome to the MSOD Alumni Home Page. The vision of having a place where
MSOD students could interact has a long history. I remember Nora Hughes'
(Pi) efforts at the 20 year reunion as well as Randi Brooks' (Tau) management
of the MSOD e-mail list. Most recently, Zig Wiedemann (Upsilon) has
constructed and supported this world wide web home page. I want to thank
these people in particular plus all those who have supported their efforts. I also wanted to tell you about some of the exciting things that are happening in the MSOD program. As many of you know, Pepperdine's MSOD Program received high marks in two recent studies and the program committee is interested in maintaining our reputation and increasing the value of your degree. Toward that end, the program committee has launched an evaluation effort. Our intent is to involve as many students, alumni, and faculty as possible in that process. Two of our current students, Gail Work and Karen Tiller, are performing studies to understand the outcomes of attending the program and a competitive analysis of other OD masters programs, respectively. In addition, I have asked a group of alumni to craft a survey that will evaluate the current MSOD curriculum. And finally, we will be interviewing our guest faculty, internal Pepperdine faculty, organizations who sponsor students in the program, and organizational futurists to understand the context in which OD will be practiced in the future. As these efforts become more crystallized, I want to invite your
participation...either by completing surveys, being interviewed, or helping us to
make contacts with people who can help us to understand what the MSOD
program should become. As always, I welcome your comments about the program and your ideas about
its improvement. Feel free to mail me at cworley@pepperdine.edu. Chris Worley |
