Bill Cary Bio

I've been working now for Intel corporation since 1979 in a variety of jobs, all of which have fallen into the broad category of HRD work. I am currently worldwide HRD manager for our systems manufacturing division, with plants in Ireland, Puerto Rico, Malaysia, Oregon and Washington.

I am as surprised as anyone that I am still with Intel after these many years, but my job keeps changing, and with the growth our company has experienced in the last 7-8 years there have been a tremendous number of OD challenges on which to focus. I am most proud of the work I did in my most recent past position, where I managed Training and OD for 2 wafer fabrication plants in Oregon. We designed and implemented team based organizations in both factories, which after 5 years, remains the best and most successful example of high involvement management in the company. My current focus is in developing my own team of HRD and Training professionals, in order to drive improvements across our network of factories. It's been fun and a great learning experience to work across cultures, establish common goals and objectives, and see changes occur in what we do and how we do them.

I have been able to apply the learnings from MSOD from the first session on, and still regard my experience there as the best thing I have ever done for myself.
