Purpose:

Create community service projects. Groups of alums, students, and others form around particular projects and/or issues and volunteer to collaborate with non-profit community organizations for optimal functioning.

Value these efforts will create:

· Marketing for MSOD program and the individuals participating

· Mentoring

· Learning/ pursuit of mastery

· Being a community citizen

· Build relationships

Key Actions:

· Hook into local/regional participation

· Access corporate volunteer time

· Create outreach program

· Create database of volunteers

· Invite participation

· Approach corporate/private foundations to access non-profits. Determine CEO favorite non-profits or issues.

· Create a management advisory committee to serve non-profits

· Write an article for GSBM Alumni Newsletter

· Explore partnership with other GSBM faculty/students/alum

Next Steps:

· Collaborate with the other MSOD Alum Groups:

Local/regional groups

Pursuit of Mastery

MSOD.org

Partners in Community

· Create mission/vision and strategy for this initiative

· Talk with Ann F./Chris W. on approaching other faculty in the GSBM

· Poll MSOD alums about accessing non-profit/charity organizations through their CEO contacts
