suggested content norms:

Purpose
The purpose of this list is to give MSOD alums, current classes, faculty, and adjunct faculty a place to exchange ideas and information, to send requests for help with projects; to list OD job openings, to discuss questions they are working with, or to share learnings. It's also a way for our office to get information out to the MSOD community quickly, and easily (e.g., info about where to find current reading lists, news from Gordon, etc.).

suggested process norms:

When using the reply function,

edit out of your reply all but the most essential comments (if any) to which you are responding.

Reasoning:
when people "REPLY"  to messages their e-mail program often, by default, attaches a copy of the original message . . . nice when you are replying to a friend but starts to get messy when a LISTSERV stream is created . . . multiple-multiple copies of the original message ... aaaaaaaaaagh !!!

webmeister's trick ....

when it comes to the part of your reply that has the original message or the part you want to get rid of ...

hold down the shift key [Shift] and push the down-arrow [ ]
... this should highlight the part of the message you don't want to send
... then press the delete [Del] key ... bingo its gone ...

( or [Shift]+[Ctrl]+[End] then [Del] is even Quicker  )

this works on most windows applications (Mac users probably have a similar thing)
