Dear Alum:

A few weeks ago you received a postcard introducing Management Update '96. The event will be held from November 15 through 17 on the Malibu campus. It is designed to accomplish two important goals - to ensure that you maintain your competitive edge in today's global market and network with other prestigious alumni.

The master's degree programs at Pepperdine are designed to train leaders and innovators. As the business climate changes, so does the need to update your knowledge about new trends in management. In one weekend, Pepperdine business professors such as David Hitchin, Ed Rockey, Bill Smith, Wayne Strom, and Brad Zehner will update you on the issues impacting business on the local, national, and international levels.

The participation of Peter Block as Keynote Speaker is an additional highlight. Mr. Block is an internationally known consultant, author, and speaker whose work focuses on methods of empowering organizations. Also invited to join us are George L. Graziadio and Dirk Gates. Mr. Graziadio, for whom the School of Business was renamed this year, is Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Imperial Bancorp. Mr. Gates is an alumnus of The Graziadio School of Business and Management and CEO of Xircom.

As the first event of its kind for The Graziadio School, Management Update '96 is intended to serve as a homecoming for alumni, an opportunity to "catch up" in a variety of ways. Throughout the weekend, various dinners and receptions are planned on the Malibu campus and at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza. Informal recreation time is also scheduled on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Park.

I believe you'll find that the cost of attendance, which includes meals and written materials, is an excellent value for a program of this caliber. The fee for alumni is $195. Spouses are welcome to attend the dinners, receptions, and Sunday Brunch for $80 and may attend the update sessions for an additional $100.

A brief schedule of events is included on the next page, and additional information is available by calling (310) 568-5771. Accommodations are available at several nearby hotels, including the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, Malibu Beach Inn, and the Radisson in Agoura Hills. Please mail your reservation for Management Update '96 on the enclosed postcard, or fax it to (310) 568-5727, by Tuesday, November 5.

Remember, the dates are the evening of November 15 through the morning of November 17. I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Otis W. Baskin, Ph.D.

Dean
